Greener Fees by Untalan Middle School - Zaiden Paulino, Shanelle Navarro, Micah Balajadia & Arlene Castro
"The focal point of this piece is the thatch roofed latte stone structure which displays how the native people utilized Guam’s natural resources to survive. For centuries, these resources such as land have been exploited by the military from toxic dumping to pesticide use, and even certain business developments have overwhelmed our environment on land and sea. Gold courses use large amounts of fertilizer which threatens our aquifer and rivers, and the tourism industry needs to be part of the preservation process of our precious coral reefs and beaches. We have the right to ask for Green Fees to preserve our precious resources. This artwork series was made to start and amplify this conversation.”
